Jeff and Samantha and their three children opened their hearts and home to Maggie, a Pomeranian/Poodle mix puppy in May of 2024. Shortly thereafter, Samantha contacted Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN to put a bug in our ear, “We would like to add another 4-legged furbaby to our family. Please reach out should one come along that will fit in with Maggie and our lifestyle.”
Samantha watched all of our postings. She would drop a line, a question now and then, but nothing serious came of it. They were patient. They wanted to make sure that Maggie would accept another. Then came Cobb, released by an area breeder because he was “too big.” At 5#, we felt he was perfect.
Approximately 20 minutes after I posted Cobb, a Shih Tzu/Yorkshire Terrier on our social media rescue page, Samantha chimed in, “I would love to know more about Cobb and try fostering to adopt to see if he is a good fit for our family.”
Since Cobb was too young to neuter, he could not be adopted out, but would qualify for our “Foster to Adopt” program. So, last weekend we made the 3 hour journey West to the home of Jeff and Samantha and surprised their three children with a furbaby addition.
Cobb will still have to come back for his neuter procedure and finalize his vetting, but for now, he is Home. And Maggie…she is happy to have a new furbaby to herd.
Thank you Jeff and Sam and your wonderful family for opening your hearts and home to Cobb. Thank you for giving him the perfect family.
Heart Hugs!
