Momma Marley and her two 10-week-old pups, Lizabeth and Bruno, were surrendered to the Scioto County Animal Shelter in Ohio. As one knows, the shelter is no place for any dog, however, it can be a deadly to a puppy.
Patti Richardson, AHFK Foster Momma and now Adoption Coordinator for the Scioto County Animal Shelter pulled the family from the shelter and took them home. She didn’t have a plan. She didn’t have a rescue in mind…yet, but what she did know was this family needed out to stay alive.
Patti contacted Almost Home Foster MN License 132328. If she fostered, regardless of duration, could we take this family in when room became available? We said, “Yes.”
The family made their way to AHFK the end of May. There was additional vetting required before they could go to their furever homes and families. Because Lizabeth and Bruno are too young to alter; spay and neuter, they are eligible for AHFK’s foster to adopt program. It wasn’t long before interest and applications were received on all three.
Last weekend Lizabeth met her furever family and went home. She has a Pet Parent who works from home, two human-siblings that keep her busy with walks and activities and Pet Grandparents who live next door with a large, fenced yard. Lizabeth has it all!
Thank you, Roberta and Bill, for giving Lizabeth the family and home she so deserves. Thank you for giving her your hearts.
