Nellie, a 15-week-old King Cavalier Spaniel/Toy Poodle mix was welcomed into Almost Home Foster & Rescue.  This little girl, along with 3 other dogs, are breeder-releases.  Nellie, too young to alter, was eligible for our Foster to Adopt Program.  The adopting family assumes all the luxury of adoption, but the final “paperwork” cannot be completed

Ruby was welcomed into rescue at Almost Home Foster & Rescue.  She came to us by way of Oklahoma.  Foster Momma Felicia had been contacted and asked to take pups from an unwanted litter.  They were Chi mixes, she was told. We met in Kansas City MO and it was apparent that little Ruby was

One of my rescue passengers back to Minnesota from the Kansas City MO area was Luke. Luke and Luna had a family, but their Chihuahua traits and their activity level was more than what this particular family could handle, so, they were surrendered to AHFK Foster Momma Felicia Stilley. Felicia has big dogs and little

Aspen, a small, petite, Lemon Beagle was surrendered to Almost Home Foster MN License #132328 earlier this month. The inquiries and applications were abundant. We were contacted by Paul and Julie. They would be traveling in the Albert Lea area on Thursday and, “if

One year for Christmas, I received a game called “See the USA.” I loved that game. Due to the financial status of our family, and its size, we weren’t able to travel and see the sights that the United States had to offer. This game gave me an escape to “travel” the USA if only

Apollo came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue as part of a packaged deal.  Apollo, along with his three siblings, his momma, and grand momma, surrendered to rescue.  Apollo watched as his family members, one by one were adopted and moved on with their new families and enjoyed new adventures and homes…their homes.  It didn’t

Sometimes the rescue weekend starts early. Sometimes it starts on Wednesday. And that is exactly how this weekend started. Of course, I still had to go to my real job, the job that nets me a paycheck, the one that allows me to do rescue, but afterward the clock is punched, it’s all about the
