One of my rescue passengers back to Minnesota from the Kansas City MO area was Luke. Luke and Luna had a family, but their Chihuahua traits and their activity level was more than what this particular family could handle, so, they were surrendered to AHFK Foster Momma Felicia Stilley. Felicia has big dogs and little dogs are at risk in this environment, plus, these two are huge escape artists in little 6# bodies. We needed to get them to AHFK in Minnesota.
It is suspected that Luna may be pregnant; we will confirm in a week or two, so for now, our focus was on getting Luke vetting and into his furever home with his furever family.
Of course, a Long-Haired Chihuahua can tug at the heart strings. Of course, being a good-looking, no, gorgeous, Long-Haired Chihuahua doesn’t hurt one’s chances of finding a home and family. Of course, we all know that the Chihuahua, Long-Haired, Short-Coated, Deer-Headed or Apple-Headed, all have “Little Dog Syndrome” and are just “Rambo” in disguise. All true for Luke as well.
Luke found his family last night… and this is a family that will keep him busy, entertained, but more importantly, loved, cherished, and safe. Their 4-legged babies are treated the same as their 2-legged babies. They all make up this family.
Luke, you have met your match. Your three hooman sisters will keep you swaddled in hugs and love. Your fur-sister Leia, yep, Luke and Leia, will be your fiercest protector and best friend.
