Kari was welcomed into Almost Home Foster & Rescue when she was surrendered to rescue as a breeder-release. She had a severe underbite, therefore she would not be used for breeding. The genetic deficiency was not a trait that this establishment wanted the litters to be at risk of carrying on for generations. Kari, a 4-year-old Chocolate and white Cocker Spaniel was gentle and laid back. She wanted to claim her humans’ lap and enjoyed being around the other dogs. Rambunctious pups were quickly put in their place by Kari, ever the momma. And it wasn’t long before the applications and inquiries poured in.
Sydney and Dylan, along with their nearly 2-year-old Aussie/Border Collie Oakley, had been entertaining the idea of adding another furbaby to their family. When Kari’s photo and bio posting hit the social media platforms, they contacted us immediately and submitted their application. Oakley, an excited toddler, was ecstatic to meet his new fur-sibling and was quite anxious and excited. Kari was quick to put him in his place and remind him of his manners. His human poppa reminded him that “He had just received a good can of whoop-ass, and it was well deserved.” It made me chuckle.
Sydney and Dylan, thank you for opening your hearts and home to Kari. Thank you for giving her the family and home that she so richly deserves and needs. We are furever grateful.
Heart Hugs!
