Allie (Alice) came to Rescue when Oklahoma Law Enforcement stepped in and removed her and others from a neglectful, horrific environment. Originally, Almost Home Foster & Rescue was asked to take in 2 Chihuahuas and 5 Shih Tzu mixes. We were not given any additional information. We were given one Chihuahua and one Shih Tzu mix, both females, both estimated between 2-3 years of age, both needing an ESH, Emotional Support Human, and what rescue dog doesn’t need that.
Allie, a petite, tiny Deer-Head Chihuahua arrived at Almost Home Foster & Rescue and was quick to bond to any human that gave her the minute amount of attention – she was deemed a true “Velcro dog.” With a set routine and oodles of fur-sibling playmates, she acclimated to her environment and routine quite nicely.
Craig and Jean, upon viewing the Adoption Availability Posting were quick to submit their application. Lifetime Chihuahua owners, they were ready to open their hearts and home to another upon the loss of one of their own. Their resident ChiWeenie, however, was quick to set the boundaries…Allie didn’t mind, she was now with family. Retired, with a spacious home and humungous, securely fenced backyard, Allie hit the Jackpot.
Craig and Jean, thank you for giving Allie the home, the family, and the environment that she so richly deserves. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to this little girl. We are fur-ever grateful.
It is amazing how Allie has adjusted into our family, especially what she went through before being resqued. It’s like she getting to be the puppy she was not able to be, but with none of the destructive tendancies that often follow a young pup. She loves belly rubs, and especially enjoys head pets. All my qualms about adapting a rescue are gone. I can’t say enough good things about her, and about Dianne.
We couldn’t have found a better family and environment for this little girl.
We are furever grateful to you and Jean for opening your hearts and home to this little girl.
Heart hugs always.
