Cody arrived at Almost Home in May of 2023. He, along with his full Beagle Momma and 4 siblings were found on the side of a gravel road in rural Kentucky. No one came to claim them. No one, it appeared wanted this family. Almost Home Foster & Rescue stepped up and committed to taking the entire family, all six of them, the 5 babies and momma. The babies were only 8 weeks old when they arrived in Minnesota. Once weaned, momma and 4 of the babies were adopted almost immediately, however, for nearly two years, Cody remained in rescue, fostering at our home.
Buddy was also found on a rural gravel road in West Virginia. Buddy was also found with 5 of his siblings, however, none survived the passing traffic, all but Buddy had met a tragic fate. The family that found Buddy took him home and raised him. When Buddy was 7 years of age, the family had to move and they couldn’t take Buddy along. We agreed to bring him into rescue. That was in April of 2024. For nearly a year, Buddy remained in foster. Neither Cody nor Buddy had received any applications or adoption interest. Neither Buddy, nor Cody had a family to call their own.
Last month Almost Home Foster & Rescue reached out to Cheryl Becker of Arizona Beagle Rescue and asked if they had room to take them in and further the task of finding them a home and family. With an overwhelming, “Yes!” Buddy and Cody were ready for their three day journey to the Tempe Arizona area. They arrived on Sunday evening and updates have been wonderful. They are settling into their new foster homes, learning new routines, and enjoying all of the attention and love that they deserve.
Their journey is not complete, their stories are still being written, but with Arizona Beagle Rescue they have another chance to find their own homes and families.
