Released from a Life of Breeding, Jewels Finds Her Furever Family to Bond With

Our screening process of our applications is thorough and when a meet and greet is scheduled, we are confident that we have found an amazing family for our Almost Home Foster & Rescue furbabies.  We have been wrong, and our AHFK furkid comes back, or the dynamics of the family has changed, or the environment proves just too much for our furbaby to thrive and progress into a family member.
Jewels is a breed-release, and although most of the furkids being released from this particular family are well socialized, both with other dogs and humans, Jewels struggled with humans.  However, Adam and his family were still upbeat and excited to welcome Jewels into their family.
Adam is a protective father and an amazing man.  He met Jewels without his children present, making sure that he could provide for her needs before the introductions to the children, he just doesn’t want to break their hearts.
I called a couple of days after the sleepover with the family began and asked if she was settling in.  She was still so timid, but Adam was working diligently with her.  He wanted to include her in the family outings, if only going for a walk.  The leash walk was scary for her, but of course….Adam found a way.
Thank you Adam for opening your heart and home to Jewels.  Thank you for working with her to overcome that scary world out there.  Thank you for giving her such an amazing family.
We are furever grateful.
