Nora came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue nearly a year and a half ago. She was released to us by a breeder out of NE Iowa. She had some eye conditions and patchy skin issues. She was vetted, having the entropion of the lower eyelid repaired. Entropion causes the eyelashes to rub against the eye, which can cause ulcers of the eye, can be uncomfortable and may cause permanent damage. She was a happy, active 36# Bully breed that was fun to have around. Her stubbornness and defiance was laughable as she stomped her bully feet when it was time for bed, or other activities not to her liking.
Nora was adopted quickly and did very well for the first year. But as time went on, Nora wanted more time with her humans, forsaking all others of their affection. The resident dog, much larger and stronger than Nora, had the ability to cause injury. After multiple training sessions and trainers, Nora was released back to rescue. However, we already had a home ready and waiting for Nora by the time she arrived back at AHFK.
After posting her in Minnesota and getting multiple inquiries, a few applications, but not the right environment for Nora, we posted her in Colorado, where AHFK Board Member Kris Adams resides. It wasn’t long and we had an application from Elise.
Elise had recently lost her Cane Corso, and was now ready to open her heart and home to another. She wanted a dog of some size, but not one that would be a constant reminder of her previous furbaby. Elise had a conversation with Nora’s current owner, Kris Adams conducted the home visit and personal visit, and AHFK vetted the application. Elise was the perfect home and family for Nora.
Nora, now known as Tilly, made her trek West just two days after Christmas, arriving in Colorado later that day. We have already received updates and photos and we can tell you….She is living the dream.
Thank you Elise for opening your heart and home to Tilly (Nora). We are truly grateful for you!
