Never Fret if One Comes Back to Rescue, It Wasn’t the Right Home or Family…Huey Gets Another Chance, and it is Amazing!

Huey came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue along with a total of 17 other siblings, half-siblings, litter mates and extended canine family members.  Huey was in the second group of owner surrenders.  Medical issues, loss of job/income and a temporary physical disability put the family between a rock and a hard spot, unable to spay and neuter their adult dogs, nature took over.  The family asked for our help and in addition to taking a total of 18 puppies, we were able to neuter one adult dog for the family.

Huey was adopted almost immediately, however, the family’s resident dog, a 10-year-old Shih Tzu was having difficulty with the energy that this new puppy brought to the table.  And, in all fairness to the aging, resident dog, Huey came back to rescue.  We were able to finish his vetting, since he was in the Foster to Adopt Program, then post him as available for adoption.  It didn’t take long, and we had an amazing family looking to adopt him.

Huey was scheduled for a meet and greet in the Minneapolis area on Saturday, however, that Winter Snowstorm Warning turned into a reality and the meet and greets scheduled for Saturday were pushed back a day.  Sunday morning, with some SE roads still in ice-compacted condition, we set out with Huey and Rambo in tow.

Huey’s meet and greet with his new family was amazing.  Jeremy and Kimberly and their 4 children will connect with every need and want that little Huey will ever desire.  Mom, dad, and Krystina, their oldest daughter, all work from home.  The youngest son, the one who will definitely match Huey’s puppy energy, is home schooled.  Huey will lack for naught as family will surround him always.

(They even asked to adopt Rambo, however, his family had a meet and greet already scheduled, but if it doesn’t work out, we know who to contact.)

Jeremy, Kimberly, Krystina and boys…thank you for opening your hearts and home to this little boy.  Thank you for giving him everything that he could ever need and want.  We are furever grateful.
