Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Tally was pulled from a small, rural shelter in Oklahoma. Their standard practice is a three day hold and then the dogs are at risk of euthanasia. Tally’s hold was up and she was scheduled to be euthanized due to limited space at the shelter and the high volume of intakes.
Tally is suspected breed is a Boston Terrier and Chihuahua mix. No DNA has been done to confirm this suspicion though. Tally is approximately 16#. She has a beautiful Brindle and White coat. Tally does very well with other dogs, she is on the submissive side. She is indifferent to cats, and does well with all humans.
Tally is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Tally acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for her to acclimate to the drastic changes in her life. Tally would also love to have a fur-sibling in the home to help her acclimate to her new environment and routine.
As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Tally does really well at keeping her nighttime crate clean and dry and waits until we are outside before she potties.
