Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.
We are currently accepting adoption applications for Sadie.
Sadie is a full-breed Red Heeler. She is classified as a working breed dog. She needs a job and she needs to stay busy. Sadie is 8 months of age. Almost Home Foster and Rescue pulled her from an Amish Puppy Mill situation in which the threat of being shot was very real. The farmer’s goats were ready to start kidding and the dogs were a threat. We pulled the pups when they were just 8 weeks old. Sadie was adopted immediately, however, due to family work schedules, there wasn’t enough time for training Sadie.
Sadie is well socialized with other dogs. She has not been cat-tested. She has lived with kids, and is currently residing with many dogs. She does very well with all.
Sadie needs a family that is knowledgeable with the Heeler breed, their needs and requirements to keep them healthy and active. Previous family states that Sadie had resource guarding issues with food. We crate all of our dogs at meal time, therefore we have not witnessed this behavior.
