Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped. Merci has received a recent dental. Merci has also been recently groomed.

Merci, aka Mercedes is a breeder-release from a local breeder. Merci is 6.5 years of age. Merci is a Maltese, white in color. She is approximately 7-8#. She is a quiet little girl who loves to be held and is the ultimate lap dog. We are working on leash walking and she does okay. She sleeps in a crate at night and she has kept her bedding clean. She does well with other dogs, does well with children and is indifferent to cats.
Merci is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Merci acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Merci to acclimate to the drastic changes in her life.
As a general rule, we state that none of our fosters are house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Merci does really well at keeping her nighttime crate clean and dry.
