APPROVED APPLICATION REQUIRED TO SCHEDULE A MEET AND GREET

ADOPTION APPLICATIONS CAN BE ACCESSED ON OUR WEBSITE: almosthomefoster.com

Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.

Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.

All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.

All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

We are currently accepting adoption applications for Dollie.

Wilma was pulled from a small, rural shelter in Oklahoma. Their standard practice is a three day hold and then the dogs are at risk of euthanasia. Wilma’s hold was up and she was scheduled to be euthanized due to limited space at the shelter and the high volume of intakes.

Dollie and her sister Lilly (separate posting) were surrendered to rescue when breeding got out of control. The owners were unable to finance the spay and neuter of their dogs and the result was approximately 40 babies in a very short time. Almost Home Foster & Rescue was able to help with three.

Dollie is just over 6 months of age at this time. She has had her first round of vaccinations, deworming and will complete her vetting, including spay on/before June 4th. Dollie is approximately 4-5# in weight. She is red in color. She displays the Deer-head Chihuahua appearance.

Dollie is just beginning to trust humans, although she is still very timid and fearful of the unknown. She had little or no socialization at her previous location. Dollie will need a home and family where there is constant praise, love, #cuddles, compassion and above all – patience.

As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Dollie appears to keep her nighttime crate clean and dry. She is in a securely fenced area by day which gives a great deal of space to be mobile in.

Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application. If interested in Dollie, adoption applications can be filled out and submitted on our website:
