Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Cody originally arrived at Almost Home Foster & Rescue in September of 2020. Cody, and his human momma, found themselves on the receiving end of the male human’s rath and fury. Beatings were routine. Human momma took most of the beatings while shielding Cody. In order to leave, she had to get Cody out of the home, out of the area, and out of Kentucky. AHFK was contacted. Cody was vetted and was quickly adopted. He has spent the last four years only knowing love, compassion, hugs and cuddles…as it should be, however, now Cody’s human parents are no longer able to care for him. Age and medical issues have made it impossible for them to give him the exercise and care that he needs. Cody is looking for an active family, one that ensure that he eats properly and gets an adequate amount of exercise to get back down to his ideal weight.
Cody is approximately 5.5 years of age. He is a taller, 16-17″ Beagle and currently weighs 52#. He is a tricolored Beagle. Cody is house-trained, does great with other dogs…ideally we would like Cody to have a fur-sibling to help keep him active and happy. Cody has had the luxury of a securely fenced yard, we would love to see him continue with this type of homelife.
Cody does well with all humans, including children. He has the typical Beagle demeanor and we want to give Cody only the best.
Cody is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Cody acclimate to his new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for him to acclimate to the drastic changes in his life.
