Our Memorial Weekend started out early this past week. Early evening on Wednesday, Carla and Allen visited Almost Home Foster & Rescue. They had visited our website: almosthomefoster.com where Carla claims, “Marsha was calling to me.” Initially they were interested in adopting Marsha and her sister Susie, however, we have made it our policy not to adopt littermates as the risk of not bonding with their human, because they have bonded with their sibling can cause training issues and concerns. In addition, as they grow older, the risk of becoming assertive, even aggressive with each other is very real.
On Friday, Marsha made the trip West, just a few miles, to be with her new family and to the place that she would call home. Marsha, an extremely social Chihuahua/Terrier mix came to Almost Home Foster & Rescue by way of Oklahoma. Foster Momma Regan had found a small Chihuahua on Craig’s List. Although she was assured that momma Chi was spayed, within a couple of short weeks it was very apparent that momma was pregnant and soon thereafter, delivered 6 Chihuahua/Terrier mix babies. Marsh was the first born, the largest of the litter and resembled her Poppa in every way and manner.
Marsha seemed to settle in almost immediately. She has a large backyard complete with a deck for sunning herself and enjoying some lazy dog-day afternoons. This is the ultimate place for this little girl.
Thank you Allen and Carla for giving this little girl the perfect home with the most perfect family. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to Marsha. We are furever grateful.
