Lyla, a Once Neglected, Cruelty Case, is Now a Cherished and Loved Family Member

Little Lyla, a small, 10# Chihuahua was part of a cruelty, confiscation case in Southern West Virginia.  Lyla, along with 5 additional Chihuahuas were found severely emaciated and neglected.  The local Animal Control Officer removed the Chis from their location, filed charges against the owners and took custody of the 6 furkids.  They were then tagged by a rescue from the East Coast area, however, Lyla, when it was time to travel, was not healthy enough to go.  She remained behind.  Once she fully recovered, Almost Home Foster and Rescue was contacted and we welcomed her in.

Lyla, a black and tan beauty, a smart, quick learning little girl didn’t take long to learn her new routines and settle into her foster home.  This past weekend though, little Lyla found her furever and home and family.  Wendell and Erleen had lost their little Chi of 16 years just a little over a year ago.  Now, they were ready to open their hearts and home to another deserving soul.  With Wendell’s immediate family back in West Virginia, Lyla’s origination state, and now in Minnesota, this was Wendell’s sign that now was the time to bring another into the family and Lyla was the one.

Thank you, Wendell, and Erleen for giving this once neglect furkid another chance.  Thank you for being the family she deserves.  Thank you for opening your hearts and home to Lyla.  We are furever grateful.
