Kassie was welcomed into rescue, into Almost Home Foster MN License #132328 as breeder-release. She was only 8 months old at the time of intake and had never been bred, never delivered puppies. The local breeder that we have been assisting as of late, has asked us to help in finding exceptional homes for the remaining dogs at their location. They are pursuing other avenues. Over the course of the next two months we will be bringing into rescue an additional 8 furbabies. They will be a Maltese, a Maltipoo, and 6 Toy Poodles. We average approximately 3 weeks from intake to furever home, so please if you are interested we ask that you submit applications early so they can be processed and approved prior to adoption. Selecting the furbaby that best fits with your family and environment can be determined when the furbabies arrive. We do process the applications on a first submitted basis.
Now, back to Kassie…”Hey mom, do you have any hypoallergenic dogs that are available for adoption?” My daughter Jo texted me.
“I do. Who’s looking.” My daughter’s family is a “big dog” family – a German Shepherd kind of family.
“A Co-Worker. Lauren and her husband, Andy recently lost their little Bichon after 16 years. They are looking for another. I told her, ‘You should talk to my mom.'”
And, so she did. Lauren relayed to me that she had been looking at the Chihuahuas that we had listed on the Almosthomefoster.com website. I told her that I had a Toy Poodle that we hadn’t listed. Another couple had recently backed out do to come unforeseen circumstances and I hadn’t had the time to post her just yet. As it stands, I didn’t have to post her. Lauren and Andy filled out the application and by the weekend, we had a meet and greet scheduled.
Kassie proved to be “a daddy’s girl” right off the bat. Andy was her safe spot. This little girl, however, will be loved by both of her parents. She is safe, she is secure, she is loved. And the bonus for this little one, the huge, securely fenced yard was amazing. Poppa Andy is a landscaper and it is done up right!
