From Deplorable Conditions, Starved, Emaciated, and Clinging to Life; Lyla is now Pampered, Cherished, and Loved

Lyla, along with five additional Chihuahuas, was confiscated from a deplorable, inhumane, neglected environment in West Virginia.  The owner was charged and the 6 Chihuahuas, starved, emaciated, and clinging to life, were made wards of the West Virginia Humane Society.  As they regained their health, an East Coast Rescue stepped up and tagged the 6.  However, as transport day neared, Lyla was still too weak to travel.  She remained behind.

Weeks later, Lyla was once again vet-checked, and it was determined that she was healthy enough to travel.  Nicholas County Animal Shelter reached out to Almost Home Foster & Rescue to see if we could help.  We made room, and Lyla made the trip to Minnesota and was welcomed into rescue.

This past weekend, with her babies (her stuffies) packed, Lyla made the nearly 4 hour trip West to a place she now calls home.  Judith had been searching for a furbaby.  She had lost her own furbaby in March, and although the hole in heart was still evident, she missed those four paws entertaining her day.

Lyla was more than comfortable with Judith and with her new home.  She has a large, securely fenced yard, stuffies galore and all the plushness and pampering she will ever desire.  Kisses were frequent and welcomed.

Thank you, Judith, for opening your heart and home to Lyla.  Thank you for giving her the life that she truly deserves.  We are furever grateful that you have become an AHFK family member.
