Fortune Intervenes and Sandy’s Fate is Overturned

Sandy, an F1 Cavapoo was surrendered to Almost Home Foster & Rescue from a local breeder.  She was released at the age of 18 months and escaped from a life of breeding.  She is a lucky one.  Many are destined to breed unto death.  This, however, was not to be the fate of Sandy.

Upon her arrival at AHFK, Sandy was vetted, brought up to date on vaccines, spayed, and microchipped.  She was well socialized with other dogs and loved to sit in the lazy-boy with her human.  She was very much a cuddler and a great lap dog.  Sandy needed a special family and a home where she could continue to thrive and progress.

We received Marsha’s application for the adoption of Sandy.  Marsha owned her home, had a fenced area for Sandy so that she could move freely about, had adopted rescue puppers in the past, had two rescue cats and her parents lived in the lower level of her home.  Her parents were former wildlife rehabilitators, and they also had a rescued dog.  Sandy’s world escalated.  All her new family members were well versed in the guidelines and rules of rescue.  Sandy hit the jackpot with this incredible, understanding family.  She was home.

Thank you, Marsha, for opening up your heart and home to this little girl.  Thank you for giving her the environment, the love, patience and compassion that she will need to fully thrive and progress.  Thank you for being her family.
