Jill, the second of the 4 Oklahoma furbabies who made their way to rescue, to Almost Home Foster & Rescue, the first week in December, also rang in the 2025 by claiming her furever home and family, our second January adoption.
Jill, along with her brother Jack were surrendered to Foster Momma Felicia Stilley when the couple could no longer afford to feed or care for the pups. At just a little over a year, they were already lacking the basic essentials in life, food, shelter, and love. They were kept in an outdoor pen and weighing in at a measly 10#, Winters are too harsh, regardless of this nation’s geographics.
Jill began her vetting in Oklahoma and completed it once arriving in Minnesota. The average stay for a foster in rescue is approximately 3-4 weeks. Jill’s stay fell right into that timeline.
Yesterday, Jill continued her journey toward her furever home and family. She was welcomed with delight, with love, with elation. Diana, a dog momma to many a JRT, fell hard for this little girl – love at first sight. Jill was quick to make herself at home, exploring every nook and cranny available, finding the already filled toy box, and demanding belly rubs and scratches from her new momma.
We strive to find the perfect home for each of our furbabies, and most of the time we get it right, but on a scale of 1 to 10 with this match up…we need a bigger scale; it just couldn’t be measured.
Diana, thank you for opening your heart and home to Jill. Thank you for giving her the family that she deserves. We are truly grateful.
