“Hey, I got you 4 Chihuahua puppies. All female. When can you take them?” I shake my head, take in a deep breath, and respond, “Let me get a hold of Michelle. I’ll let you know.”
Before the date could get in the books, Felicia texted me back, “Now there are 6 Chihuahuas, and a JRT puppy. How soon?”
I scrambled…If I put these three here and these over there, and cleared this yard for these….then maybe, just maybe, I could put the 7 littles here. Good gravy…I am out of room. And Michelle, how was she supposed to arrange transport for 7 littles, that was more than we could ask any one driver to take on. I called Felicia back. “Can you meet me in Kansas City on the 8th?” That was the 1/2 way point for the two of us. “Yes, 9am, again?”
Bella, along with her siblings and a small 9 week old JRT, traveled from Wewoka OK to Albert Lea MN where they were welcomed into rescue. We completed their vetting this past week, and quick as a lick, Bella received the first adoption applications. And, last night, Bella had the incredible experience of meeting her furever family.
Ben and Katie are well-versed when it comes to adopting rescue dogs and the time, love, and compassion one needs to allow them to decompress and settle into becoming a family member. We received an early morning update from Momma Katie this morning:

We had the best night with Bella. She took a walk and we played hide and
seek until we all were ready for bed.
She snuggled with me all night and was eager to walk this morning!
We love her sooooo much. I think this is the perfect fit!
