Ashley, our second of 4, was released to Almost Home Foster & Rescue from a local breeder.  Ashley, a 3-month-old puppy, found the perfect home and family.  We are extremely careful in placing our puppies.  They are too young to be spayed/neutered, therefore they enter a “Foster to Adopt” agreement.  The families assume all the

Abe, a petite, F1b CavaPoo puppy, was released by a local breeder.  Abe, along with three other additional releases made their way to Almost Home Foster & Rescue.  The initial social media posting brought a barrage of inquiries and as many adoption applications.   Kami and her husband, and their daughters recently lost their little

“Her name is Speck.  She was born the runt of the litter.  She was no bigger than a speck.”  Speck was released to Almost Home Foster & Rescue from an area breeder.  This little girl was the quietest, well-mannered, little Beagle that I had ever run across.  She wasn’t hunting material…she was a lap dog.

Albert is the result of a backyard breeder who couldn’t sell all the puppies from this litter.  The backyard breeder does as one usually does… “Free to good home, need them gone.”  In many cases, the pups are abandoned, taken to shelters, euthanized, some at the hand of a vet, many in disgusting, inhumane ways.

Hooligan, along with 5 other Pomeranians were released by a local breeder to Almost Home Foster & Rescue in April this year.  The four puppies, Luna, and Banshee all found furever homes and families rather quickly.  Hooligan remained in rescue.  We are considered a foster-based rescue.  We have 8 fenced yards/areas on our farm.  All

Almost Home Foster  MN License #132328 has had the opportunity to assist an area breeder in reducing his numbers.  We believe that all furbabies, regardless of age or of their beginning, are entitled to a happy and deserving furever home and family.  Penny, along with her brother Petey, were released from a local breeder.

“Dianne, I am hoping you will help me out.  I feel stupid for getting myself into this. I took a 10-mo. old beagle mix from a gal that posted her on a fb page.  I made a comment, and she messaged me that if she didn’t find a home by a certain

Iris was released to Almost Home Foster & Rescue from a local breeder.  Iris is what we call “a Velcro-dog.”  When she trusts her human, she sticks to her human.  Although a breeder-release, Iris was well socialized with humans and other dogs.  She loves to cuddle.  She loves attention, and she needed constant reassurance,

“Hi Dianne, We were thinking of expanding our family with another furry sibling.  Do you get doodles often?  No rush…”   I shot over photos of Albert and Travis, two Labradoodles that would be arriving from Oklahoma on Saturday’s transport.   “Oh my goodness… we are already in love.”

“Are you taking any dogs?” T Anna of The Greene County Animal Shelter in Ruckersville VA asked.   “No, not at this time.”  I answered.  We have 22 fosters at the house right now, 2 staycation boarders, and 11 resident dogs.  We are slammed.   “Okay?  I thought I would ask!  We have a
