Albert is the result of a backyard breeder who couldn’t sell all the puppies from this litter. The backyard breeder does as one usually does… “Free to good home, need them gone.” In many cases, the pups are abandoned, taken to shelters, euthanized, some at the hand of a vet, many in disgusting, inhumane ways. Albert and his Doodle brother Travis were saved by the quick actions and the drive to “save as many as I can” Felicia Stilley of Wewoka OK. Felicia is an Almost Home Foster & Rescue Foster Momma.
Travis was adopted before he and Albert arrived. But it was just a few days later, after his arrival, that we were scheduling meet and greets for Albert.
We scheduled a meet and greet between Albert and his potential adoptive family this past Sunday. This family had an amazing home and a large, large securely fenced yard and a fur-sister, two human sisters and between mom and dad, dad worked from home. Amazing family for this young pup. We left Albert with the family for nearly 2 hours while we conducted the meet and greet for Speck. Upon driving back to the family’s home, I received a message stating that they would like to go forward with the adoption.
Upon my arrival, Albert was asleep on one of the human-sister’s bed. He was where he was supposed to be…he was in heaven.
Thank you, Brianna, Michael and girls, for this gift of a home and family for Albert. Thank you for opening your hearts and home for him. We are furever grateful.
