It is only the 11th of October and we already have 4 adoptions to that need telling. 3 of these adoptions took place yesterday. We were ready and prepared for two, but when the third one came through….we were excited and well, not really surprised. But first…
Oh Winston…Winston and his two brothers are three of the six remaining Shih Tzu/Dachshund mixes that we have been helping a local family vet, neuter, spay their resident dogs and find furever homes for the pups that came to be. This final group of 6 will make 29 dogs that we helped with finding the perfect furever family and home for.
Stephanie reached out to Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN. She was interested in one of these little boys, but struggled with “which one?” Stephanie and Jamie had recently lost their little one in an accident and as Steph stated, “I was in a dark place.” That hole that was left in her heart needed mending.
We met at The Pet Authority in Albert Lea for an initial meet and greet. I brought Winston and Jameson. River was already being foster by Amanda Weigel and had an interested adopter in him. Jameson, extremely timid, hid himself behind me for most the of the meet and greet. Winston, ever the socialite, decided for us that he wanted Stephanie for his momma. He chose her! We set up a time to meet at their, allowing Winston to meet Jamie and Furgie, the resident Pomsky.
Winston, a little reserved of Furgie, who thought that Winston was going to be great fun, tucked himself into Steph. Time, just needs time.
Winston is loving life and living large in his furever home with his furever family. Mom’s been shopping; a new wardrobe is in the making for this little loved, spoiled boy.
Stephanie and Jamie, we are furever grateful that you have opened your hearts and home to Winston, providing him with the love and care that he so richly desires.
