Molly Finds the Perfect Combination with Her Furever Family

Hello, my name is Molly. I am a Shih Tzu and Bichon Frise’ mix, aka, a Teddy Bear. My fur parents should never have been used for breeding. I have a severe underbite, a genetic issue, but then, sometimes it is all about the money with little or no concern for our well-being.

Approximately 4 years ago, my human momma bought me from a breeder. My momma, at that time was 72 years of age. I was just 8 weeks old. My momma lived by herself, didn’t have any family, and I became her only companion. Since coming home, I was never groomed, nor was i ever vetted. And after 4 years, I carried quite the pelt. My ears dragged on the floor.

Fast forward four years-my human momma fell. She couldn’t get back up and she could not get her phone to make a call. By chance, a delivery man called in for a welfare check. Momma was taken to the hospital and the policeman found me a foster – his sister who is involved in rescue.

With the help of Hailey Johnson and Amanda Weigel of The Pet Authority in Albert Lea MN, I came into rescue with Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN.

We found a home for Molly almost immediately, however, Molly came back to rescue after 4 months; she wasn’t bonding with her human or the resident dog. So we set out to find “her” home. That is when Cindy and Jackie reached out to us.

Molly had only been with women. Her first two homes only had single women. In her foster home, mostly a woman. In our home, she acclimated to Dave, but in a reserved way. By the light of day, she clung to me, at night, she slept curled up by Dave’s head. She needed a male in her life, and with in Cindy and Jackie’s home…she gets just that, they perfect combination; a work from home mom, a mom that works outside the home, and a human-sibling to help her over the timidness of a male presence. It’s working, because Molly sleeps with her human brother. She also got more bang for her buck when she also acquired a fur-brother and a huge, securely fenced yard. This little Molly hit the jackpot and we couldn’t be happier for her.

Cindy and Jackie, we are furever grateful that you were able to open up your hearts and home to this little girl and welcomed her into your lives.

Heart hugs
