Bella’s world went into a tailspin. The family that loved and cared for her since she was a wee pup had to make the heart-wrenching decision to give her up at the age of 8. Their son was severely allergic to Bella and although for three years they tried to keep their child and Bella separated, they realized that Bella was spending more and more time isolated from family; it wasn’t fair to Bella, she deserved better. They made the phone call to Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN.
We brought Bella into rescue. It was noted that she had a couple of lumps and bumps, typical of an aging dog. One vet aspirated one of the nodules that he thought suspicious…the results were suspicious. Doctor Dan, the rescue’s Veterinarian of Record removed the lipoma and the tumor that proved to be a mass cell tumor – a malignant tumor. The parameters and margins were clean and the tumor and the fatty lump were sent for testing.
Three weeks post-surgery and Bella was given the all-clear. No sign of regrowth, no enlarged nodes. Late yesterday afternoon Bella went home to her furever Momma Jeanne. Jeanne, a seasoned Beagle owner and one who went through this medical procedure with her previous Beagle, Daisy, is well versed on Bella’s required care and protocols.
Bella will be treated like royalty…a deserving lifestyle for the Queen that she is. Next door resides her fur-cousins and her hooman-sister. Family is plentiful and there when needed.
Jeanne, we are furever grateful to you. Thank you for opening your heart and home to Bella, for giving her a second chance with another family that will cherish her the rest of her days.
