Rambo, the last of the 18 Chiweenies that were surrendered to Almost Home Foster & Rescue, found his furever home and family yesterday. He was, by far, our most elusive pup of the group. Once caught, he would shower his captor with kisses, but one had to catch him first.
Sarah, a firm believer in rescue adoption, found Rambo’s bio online. She had recently secured another rescue adoptee from Kentucky, same age as Rambo, and wanted a second dog and playmate for Luna. With only 10 days difference in their ages, it would seem that this was meant to be…And it was. The two will be celebrating a Birthday month every June.
Luna, the tiny long-haired Chihuahua from Kentucky, was ecstatic upon meeting Rambo. Rambo, a little more reserved, however Sarah, a former Certified Vet Tech, now nurse, was well-versed in introducing the two, equal space, decompressing time, patience, compassion and love. In fact, Sarah once rescued a piglet that had fallen from the transport semi…today, this 600# rescued pig is still with family.
Sarah, thank you for opening your heart to yet another soul needing rescue. Thank you for giving Rambo the home and family that he needs to thrive and progress. We are furever grateful for all that you have done for those needing a home and family.
