“Well, Happy Adoption Day to me! My very own pony! Just what I always wanted! But, mommy and daddy, where is the saddle? Can I ride now, can I?” Little Winnie’s dreams had come true. Just like every other little girl, all she wanted was her very own pony.
“No, Baby-girl, that’s your brother. Yes, from a different mother, but your brother. You won’t be riding him.”
Winnie, one of the last of the Chiweenies that made their way to Almost Home Foster & Rescue, continued her journey home this past weekend. And if ever there was a more perfect home, well, there just isn’t. Winnie’s Poppa Sam works from home, Momma Jordan is in her third year of Veterinary School, and her brother is there to protect and show her the ropes on establishing a regular routine and schedule.
Winnie was a little intimidated at first with the size of her fur-brother, and as all Chihuahuas do, she was pretty vocal as to who she thought would be running the show…for now, they let her think that way. She was settling in and her tail was wagging as her Poppa held her.
Sam and Jordan, thank you for opening your hearts and home to Winnie. Thank you for giving her the best home and family possible.
