On a daily basis, our address appears to have its own magical, beaconing light. One that safely and securely lures every known courier and delivery van to our door. FedEx, UPS, USPS, and of course, AMAZON. Once again, Troy, our Amazon delivery man pulled into the drive, but this time, not in his white courier van, or even that multicolored Amazon vehicle, but in a silver pickup truck, with his wife Debbi in accompanying him. They were not here on this glorious Holiday Weekend, Saturday morning for a delivery, Nooooo, they were here to pick up the second of two of their furbabies.
Just a week prior, Henery of OK found his furever home with Troy and Debbi. Louie needed to finish his vaccinations before he was eligible for the “Foster to Adopt” Program. Because Louie is still too little and young to neuter, Troy and Debbi, upon signing a waiver, which states that he will not be used for breeding prior to his neuter procedure, which already scheduled when he reaches 6 months, were given the opportunity to take Louie home and acclimate him to his new family…human and fur.
Louie is one of 14 Chiweenie pups that were brought into Almost Home Foster & Rescue. A local family experienced both medical and financial difficulties and were unable to spay and neuter the parent puppers and the breeding escalated. We were asked to help and were able to bring these furkids into rescue, vet them and find them phenomenal homes. Huey and Dewey are the only two without rescue commitment at this time.
Troy and Debbi, once again, thank you for opening your heart and home to these two furbabies. Thank you for giving them the life and family that they deserve. We are furever grateful.
