Cash, a Dachshund mix was welcomed into Almost Home Foster & Rescue of MN by way of Oklahoma. Foster Momma Felicia Stilley was able to secure two of the 40 feral Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes that were located right across the fence from her. The owner refused to spay/neuter his dogs and the free-for-all breeding commenced. The owner told Felicia, “Take what you can…” She was able to secure Lizzy and Cash. When she attempted to remove additional dogs, both puppies and adults, she was met with a barrage of dog bites. She would return later. Later never came as when she returned, the dogs were no longer there. One can only presume their fate.
Cash, however, a lucky soul made his way to Minnesota, He completed his vetting and with time, learned to trust the humans around him. Cash is truly a quiet, gentle soul.
Ricky and Jenn, no strangers to fostering for other rescues, or adopting previous strays, were looking to give another a compassionate and loving home. Their hearts settled on Cash.
Last Thursday, Cash made the one-hour trip North to his furever home and family. In addition to his new momma and poppa, Cash inherited two fur-siblings, but they were too busy digging into the adoption tote of goodies to take time for the family photo!
Ricky and Jenn, thank you for opening your hearts and home to another soul in need. Thank you for giving Cash the family, the love, the home that he so richly deserves. Heart hugs!
