Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota, in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue.
Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia.
All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit.
Our Adoption fee is $425.00 for a single dog adoption.
All our dogs are completely vetted, 4DX tested, current on vaccinations, *spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Mack is approximately 6 years of age. It appears that he is of the Havanese family. Mack is approximately 15#. Mack was surrendered to the area veterinarian in Oklahoma for euthanasia. The veterinarian called an AHFK foster and asked if we could take him into rescue.
Mack has done well with all other dogs that he has met in foster. He prefers the company of his human, however.
As a general rule, we state that all of our fosters are not house-trained. We realize that changes in routine and environment causes stress and can lead to accidents. Mack, however appears to be fully house=trained. He is not crated and has full roam of his foster’s home. However, changes in routine and schedules can be stressful and overwhelming, therefore, accidents cand happen and should be anticipated.
Mack is looking for a home where one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help him acclimate to his new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Mack to acclimate to the drastic changes in his life.
