She was No Bigger than a Speck…Her New Family Considers Her Grand!

“Her name is Speck.  She was born the runt of the litter.  She was no bigger than a speck.”  Speck was released to Almost Home Foster & Rescue from an area breeder.  This little girl was the quietest, well-mannered, little Beagle that I had ever run across.  She wasn’t hunting material…she was a lap dog.  Somewhere along her genetics, something was amiss…she wanted to be a companion dog.  Speck was small is size, just 17# and she could cuddle with the best of them.  She had no desire to be part of the AHFK “pack,” she just wanted to be with her human.

This past weekend, Speck made her way to her furever home and family.  Her human poppa is retired and home to take care of every whim and want of Rosie, her now new fur-sister and her, and her momma just works part-time.  She has a large, fenced yard, with large canopy-style trees providing an absolute haven for the girls.  Speck settled right in, cuddling with Momma Beth almost immediately.  She was comfortable and relaxed and looked as if this is right where she was meant to be.

We received an update yesterday from Beth.  She was eating and drinking, pottying outside and truly settling into her retirement stage.

Pat and Beth, thank you for opening your heart and home to Speck.  Thank you for giving her the family and home that she truly deserves.  Heart hugs to you always.
