We love repeat adopters.
William first became an AHFK family member in October of 2020 when he adopted Tucker. Tucker, if one remembers, lived in Oklahoma with his family. The family dynamics changed and the family split and moved out and on, however, they left Tucker behind. Tucker was taken in by a foster and Cindy Meadors Rutledge contacted Almost Home Foster & Rescue asking if we could help get him out of Oklahoma and could we find his furever family. YES! And YES! We already had a family in mind. William!
This past weekend, while out for a drive, William stopped at Almost Home Foster and Rescue. He had been looking for another furbaby. Although he adopted Its-a-Beth while on one of his truck runs in Texas, he wanted to be surrounded by his furbabies. He had more love to give. He met Trixie, a recent intake at AHFK and he was smitten, to say the least. William didn’t want to leave her behind, but she needed to complete her vetting.
Last night, amongst all the state’s tornado warning and damaging winds, (we were already in the clear by the time we left home,) Trixie made the journey to the NE where she met her new family. Tucker, an AHFK Alumni, ItsaBeth and very vocal and dominant, “I will rule this roost” Chihuahua, and her hooman dad William.
For William, these furbabies are his life, the love of his day, the sparkle in his heart. A picture is worth a thousand words, and I think these pictures tell the story. As I headed out last evening to return home, William said, “I am looking for one more, a senior. I want to give a senior some love, a home, a family. Let me know when you have one.” This man can make a grown woman cry.
Thank you, William, for always finding love in your heart for another. Thank you for opening your life, your love and your home, and your heart for another. We are furever grateful. Heart Hugs my friend.
