Elmer T was welcomed into Almost Home Foster & Rescue by way of Nicholas County Animal Shelter in Summersville WV. Amber and Logan Gregory agreed to foster Elmer for our rescue until we had room to bring him in. That day finally arrived and Elmer, together with Bolt, also from WV were transported to Minnesota.
Elmer, a young, energetic Beagle, try as he might, could not find his niche here. There were many other fosters to play with. Large, securely fenced yards and activities to keep him busy, but he bayed and cried… a lot. I contacted Terri Morris, also a foster momma for AHFK, who initially pulled Elmer on our behalf and discussed how unhappy he was, he just couldn’t settle in and feel, “at home.” She offered to talk to Amber about his attitude.
This was news to Amber and, “Could we send him back? Could we adopt Elmer? He did so well here. He and Chloe….”
Chloe! This missing puzzle piece. Elmer was missing Chloe!
So, back to West Virginia, back to his roots Elmer went, and AHFK recorded another Foster Fail into our Adoption Books.
Thank you Amber and Logan for always being there. Thank you for giving this guy his Chloe back, for giving him the family and home that he deserves. We are furever grateful.
